During the May 6, 2009 Louisa County School Board meeting, the board unanimously voted to accept Example #2 for the way the new redistricting lines will be drawn. This decision will take affect in the 2010-2011 school year.


 

During the March 3, 2009 Louisa County School Board meeting, the redistricting committee presented the board with two options for the future lines and boundaries of each elementary school. To view a copy of the presentation, please click on the link below:

Since Spring of 2008, the redistricting committee has held 8 committee and 4 forum meetings discussing various issues related to redistricting, such as projected growth in the county, projected growth of elementary student enrollment, and the impact of redistricting on bus routes and travel time.

The forum meetings were held in October of 2008 at each elementary school to aid in determining the future boundaries and lines for each elementary school district, since input from citizens and parents will help determine the actual lines of each district.
